Bang a Gong... I'm Gone

from Mind The Noise by Craic Attics

/

about

Date Recorded: September 4, 2011
Order in which song was made for project: 36 of 42
Instruments Played: Gong, Electric Guitar recorded using a Loop Pedal, Phin Pia

How they made it: This beat should sound familiar as it is the same one used on the previous track, just with a slower tempo. One of ten songs recorded on September 4, 2011, it is one of three tracks Danny refers to as "just noise." There is a loop which is barely noticeable, but it is another apocalyptic loop (apparently the only kind Michael knows how to make). The track started as just the loop and Michael didn’t even notice it was the same beat they used earlier in the night, but when played after one another he was impressed with the transition. A few days later they added some “Rza-ness” with the Phin Pia notes and the Gong was a last minute addition as Michael claims, "the track desperately needed it."

Origin of song title: “Bang a Gong” is one of Michael’s favorite phrases to say.
