Drugged in Bangkok

from Mind The Noise by Craic Attics

/

about

Date Recorded: September 4, 2011
Order in which song was made for project: 29 of 42
Instruments Played: Phin Pia using a Glass Slide, Bass

How they made it: Evan J was playing the bass next to Michael who imitated the bassline he was playing by applying a glass slide to this 3-string Thai instrument with a round head. The round head gives it the “bouncy” sound similar to a sitar or banjo. Sounded "unbearable" on the night of the recording (September 4, 2011), but the next day was, "some ill Wu-Tang shit!"

Origin of song title: The title "Drugged in Bangkok" comes from the off-pitch playing of a Thai instrument that when played with a glass slide personifies a heavily drugged person in Bangkok.
