Goin' 4 Gold

from Mind The Noise by Craic Attics

/

about

Date Recorded: March 18, 2011
Order in which song was made for project: 5 of 42
Instruments Played: Electric Guitar recorded into loop pedal, Bass

How they made it: After what Michael deemed a “successful” first session he went home and recorded more loops. When he brought back the loop pedal to Danny’s two weeks Danny loaded it up and said, “I’ll make this one, but you should start recording other instruments ‘cause this all sounds the same.”

When it was first made, it was just the 2 second guitar loop running over a minute with the beat changing up. To knock out the repetitiveness, Michael added bass months later and shortened the track by 30 seconds.

Origin of song title: The guitar loop sounds almost like a “coin” noise in a videogame and the drumming seems like a race or a marathon. When added together it is “Goin’ 4 Gold.”
