Take It Back

from Mind The Noise by Craic Attics

/

about

Date Recorded: September 4, 2011
Order in which song was made for project: 27 of 42
Instruments Played: Garrahand, Bass

How they made it: Using the recently acquired Argentinian instrument, the Garrahand, the pair started a “let’s finish this album” session with a basic tune. What separates the Garrahand from the Hang or Steel Pan (as far as similar sounding instruments go) is it has Mic In / Input capability. So, Michael plugged an XLR into the instrument and hit only two “tongues” on the instrument, while Danny supplied a particularly unique-sounding beat. A few weeks later, a heavy bass was added to give it a “dark, intoxicated club” feel.

Origin of song title: The track is called “Take It Back” because it seemed like a phrase a DJ would say before spinning the song… “Alright, I’ma take it back on ya now.”
